What the role involves:

As the Financial Controller, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role will involve managing the accounting team (4-6 people), developing financial strategies, and providing insightful analysis to support business decisions.

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional development and collaboration.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for the team.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide feedback to team members to foster professional growth.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of financial reporting and accounting activities.
  • Ensure that all team members adhere to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with other departments to support financial initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior staff, helping them develop their skills and advance their careers.
  • Address and resolve any interpersonal or performance-related issues within the team.
  • Facilitate open communication within the team and ensure that important information is shared with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to executive management and stakeholders.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting to support strategic planning.
  • Establish (in coordination with CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee cash flow management, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and treasury functions.
  • Manage the external audit process, liaising with auditors and ensuring timely completion of audits.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Provide analysis and insights on financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
  • 10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with 5 or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager.
  • Experience in a healthcare/clinic setting preferred.
  • Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant)
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
  • Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting
  • Experience in managing payroll, with focus on streamlining accounting processes
  • Exemplary history of financial project management

Location

This position is onsite in Gillette, Wyoming. 

The base salary for this position has a range of $90 up to $120k per year at the commencement of employment. Any offer is determined by overall experience and performance during the interview process. This is only part of the total compensation package.
